DEBBIE COOK, TEACHER
ABOUT US - OUR STAFF
Our staff is comprised of experienced professionals who are dedicated to helping your student reach his or her educational potential.
I began my journey as an educator in 1970 after graduating from the University of Houston.
During 30+ years in the classroom, I worked with students and adults in the following areas: Regular Education, Dyslexia, ESL, Learning Disabled, ADD, Autism, Expressive and Receptive Language Disorders, Behaviorally Challenged, and Developmental Delays.
The last 12 years have been spent developing and implementing programs for individual students in the private sector. It has been wonderful to see students who had little hope of success in the classroom blossom into real learners.
I believe that the purpose of an education is to provide each child with the tools that will enable him to become a happy, independent, productive adult.
I began working at Thinkers Education Center in January 2010.
I joined Thinkers with over 18 years of educational experience. My teaching experiences include Environmental Education, Coaching, Pre-K classroom, Kindergarten classroom, School Management, Early Education Instruction, Online College Instruction, Special Education, Home School, Tutoring and Test Prep.
I graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Technology and another Masters in Elementary Education.
Working in so many different educational settings has allowed me to expand my classroom knowledge base. I have learned that every child can and does learn. They may learn at different paces and learn in different ways but they CAN learn. My favorite part of teaching is seeing the progress the students.
